Made vs Recorded

What Is M.A.D.E.?
Musically Authored, Digitally Expressed.
Every song I make begins with something I want to say. Before there is a beat, a voice, or a finished sound, there are words, a concept, and a reason for bringing them together. That foundation is the same whether the song becomes a traditional recording or a M.A.D.E. release. The difference is how those words become music.
Recorded Music
Recorded music follows the process most people recognize: write a song, find or create the music, and bring it into the studio. Perform the words. Work through the delivery, the timing, the emotion. Record the takes, build the tracks, and shape them into a finished mix.
My recorded releases capture me performing my songs. My voice, my delivery, and the choices made throughout the recording process give those words their expression.
M.A.D.E. Music
M.A.D.E. stands for Musically Authored, Digitally Expressed. It is the name I use for music that combines my songwriting and creative direction with AI tools that generate the sounds and vocal performances through which those songs are expressed.
For me, the writing still comes first. What is the song saying? Why does it matter? Does it stand on its own, or belong within a larger project? How might its meaning deepen when placed beside another song?
Then comes the question of sound. What should this song feel like? What kind of voice belongs in it? Does it need warmth, tension, restraint, or force? Where should the music leave room for the words, and where should it carry something the words alone cannot?
My love of music and film informs those decisions. A film’s score can make the same scene feel tender, unsettling, or triumphant. I approach a song with that same attention to how sounds work together to communicate emotion.
Writing a speech and delivering it are two different parts of the same act. The words establish the thought; the delivery gives it breath, weight, and feeling. With M.A.D.E., I work toward that relationship between the song I have written and its musical expression.
The Work Behind the Sound
My background is in writing and rapping rather than playing every instrument or engineering every session. These tools expand what I can explore, but each song still requires decisions about what serves it.
That means listening closely, revising the direction, exploring different interpretations, and selecting what belongs. A compelling sound may still be wrong for the song. A polished performance may miss the emotion entirely. Part of the work is recognizing those differences—and continuing until the music communicates what I intended.
Taste and selection are part of that process, alongside the writing, forethought, and willingness to revise. Generating something that sounds finished is one step. Deciding whether it says what I meant is another.
When I first encountered AI music, much of what I heard felt distant to me. It could sound impressive while leaving me without a sense of the person behind it. In my own work, I want the concept, the details, and the emotional direction to carry that personal presence.
A Wider Creative Outlet
M.A.D.E. gives me room to explore myself as a songwriter beyond the boundaries of my own voice. I can write for different voices, imagine different musical worlds, and develop projects whose expression reaches beyond what I would perform as a rapper.
Recorded and M.A.D.E. are the terms I use to distinguish those approaches within my catalog. Both begin with my writing and my desire to communicate something. Each gives that writing a different way to be heard.
